The very first video I ever posted was about putting multicolored LEDs on my house so we could have all kinds of different colors and different effects for every holiday. They’ve been working great for over 2 years.

My goal with this video, and a few more that will follow, is to make it as easy as possible for anyone to get into DIY Christmas lights.

I’m a newbie and want to put holiday lights on my house. I be using around 630 12 pixel string lights (the ones you recommended on Amazon) in J channel. I’m trying to determine the number of DIGI controllers to use. I understood a controller can go as far as 1200 pixels and with WLED you break them into zones and identify the light on each universe. I can get the wiring from the soffit into the attic and can hook them all up as a single string and also inject power as needed. I also need to know what size power supply is needed and the number of power injection points. I have been told that 12 v may go as far as 150 pixels so I am thinking I need 5 injections on power. Power on both ends and 3 in the string at some point. I am thinking a 80a power supply to run the 12v side side of the DIGI with a separate 5v power supply for the CPU. I’d also like a way to shut off the power to the lights when not in use and think I can switch the 80a power supply to handle that leaving the 5v running on the CPU. Any help would be appreciated.
